Ordering: You may order by e-mail, phone or mail; whichever is more convenient for you. Be sure to include your name, address, e-mail address or phone#, item# and any option selections that may be available for your item(s).
Orders are normally completed within two weeks of receiving your horsehair, but will be determined by my schedule at that time. I like to send pics of your completed keepsakes before shipping, so please include your email address with your order.=)
When ordering a bracelet, please include the wrist measurement. Pull the measuring tape snug, but not tight. Add 1/4", 1/2" or 3/4" to your measurement - depending on the particular design you have chosen, and your preference. Please measure accurately as additional charges apply if I have to resize and reship bracelet(s)...thanks.
Gathering Horsehair: Gathering horsehair is easy. Simply lift the top level of mane or tail hair and cut the hair where it won't even be noticed. Please don't send hair that is caked/stained with manure because it makes my job a lot harder when I clean the hair...thanks.=)
The amount of hair you need to cut is listed with the product information, or email me and I'll let you know how much to send. Put a rubber band or twist tie around the end of the hair and place it in a small plastic bag. Please print your name on the bag.
If you want the left over hair sent back to you, please be sure to let me know!!!
Caring for Horsehair Jewelry and Keepsakes: Gently polish the silver with a polishing cloth. (I prefer the disposable cloths that can be purchased online or at the jewelry dept. at discount stores like Kmart/Walmart.) To polish silver spirals without soiling your horsehair, simply slip a piece of clean paper or cloth under the spiral before polishing. To polish groups of silver wrap wire, simply wrap the polishing cloth around a narrow tool before polishing. These tips are especially important when cleaning around white horsehair!
When the horsehair becomes soiled, you may very gently wash it in warm water using a mild soap/shampoo. Do not soak your horsehair jewelry or keepsakes! After gently rinsing, carefully pat the item with a cloth, shape, and then air dry.
It is also very helpful to store your horsehair jewelry in a jewelry box or plastic bag when it's not being worn. When storing or wearing horsehair jewelry, be sure that other jewelry can not snag your treasured keepsake.=)
